Synthesis of 5,5'-carbonylbis(2-(2-hydroxyethyl)isoindoline-1,3-dione) (BTDA-Diol)

Procedure

1. Involve the condensation reaction 2-fold excess of amino derivative with respect to BTDA in polar aprotic solvent DMF (20 ml)
2. Reflux the reaction mixture for 5 hours
3. Monitor the progress of the reaction by TLC (MeOH:CHCl3, 1:1, v/v)
4. Cool the reaction mixture and precipitate in DI water three times
5. Freeze-dry than put in 100°C vaccum oven
